Jean-Eudes Maurice in 2004,

At 18 years of age, Jean-Eudes Maurice was a player full of great qualities. Having been spotted in 2004 by player agent Cédric Giblasio and trainer Stéphane Abadie within the framework of KIFOOT.COM scouting, Jean-Eudes had never had the experience of formal training; he had never even evolved within the junior national championships and stagnated at the second level of the regional divisions (DSR) !

At 19 years of age, Jean-Eudes joined the UJA Alfortville Seniors club of his town, helping them become the regional champions (Honour Division) whereas not a single national club wanted to hear from him at the time.

He scored goal after goal, allowing his club to reach the CFA (4th national dividion) in a matter of two seasons, and was finally spotted by the coach for the PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN reserve team during the 2006-2007 season.

With an amateur status, he then joined PSG during the summer of 2007 in order to evolve as a part of the club's reserve team.
     




Thanks to his fantastic performances, he managed to sign his first professional contract a little while later, and had his very first appearance on the starting line during the quarter-finals of the Europe Cup against DYNAMO KIEV.

Being perfectly satisfied with his performances, his managers signed a new contract of 3 years with Jean-Eudes in May 2009. There, he scored his first goals with PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN, one of the most prestigious clubs in France, in one of his first matches within the League 1, during automn of 2009.

Jean-Eudes Maurice proves undoubtedly that it is in fact possible to succeed, even at an age when many consider that all doors are essentially closed to you and in a profession where scores of players with formal training never get the chance of turning professional. A good lesson to keep in mind, just as much for young players like Jean-Eudes as well as the football clubs, probably kicking themselves right now for not having wanted to recruit him in the past !
